Understanding RTF
Most people are not familiar with RTF because of Microsoft. Microsoft intentionally reduce your attention and interest, so that you can spend much money buying the Microsoft Office software year by year. In fact, RTF is a mature file format. It can remain most of the formats of Microsoft Word or OpenOffice. Microsoft Word files, which includes .doc or .docx files, have various problems. 1.Microsoft Word can reduce the quality of images automatically. 2.The .doc and .docx files may contain virus. 3.The .doc and .docx files can be broken easily. In the past, old smart phones and old versions of Linux and Mac operating systems can only supports .txt files. For .txt files, all the font-sizes are the same, and they do support bold, italic, underline formats. Besides, they do not support colors, tables or images. A .txt file looks like a wall. Your eyes can be quite tired after reading .txt files for a short time. Nowadays, many electronic books use RTF instead of TXT. Many new smart phones and operating systems, have already supported RTF, except for TXT. Vitally, the cost creating a .rtf file is much cheaper than the one of a .txt file. Book publishers can simply use Microsoft Word or OpenOffice to save the files as RTF files. Unlike .txt files, they do not have to adjust spaces or new lines for .rtf files. You can use Microsoft Word to save a .doc or .docx file as a .rtf file. Later, you just need to edit the format slightly in OpenOffice. The formats can be the same as Microsoft Word. Most people do not know the value of RTF. Similarly, most people do not know the values of stocks. They just use stocks as gambling tools. Through RTF files, you can remain all the contents and nearly all of the formats of Microdot Word and OpenOffice. Besides, you can use RTF as a bridge between Microsoft Word and OpenOffice. Similarly, you can use it in Linux and Mac operating systems. Vitally, you can copy the contents to Microdot Word or OpenOffice directly without any lost. This is quite different from PDF. Just like Web pages, the RTF format has become an industrial standard, although it is still controlled by Microsoft. RTF supports font, table and image. It is an excellent file format. You can use RTF as Desktop Web page.
